  • The number of counselling sessions you will need depends on your individual needs and situation. Progress is reviewed after several sessions. Some additional factors that may influence the number of sessions include:

-the complexity of the challenges you would like to focus on (generally the more serious the issue, the more sessions you will need).

  • No. However, many of my clients send in their receipts to their benefits providers for reimbursement. I encourage you to check with your benefits provider to see if counselling is covered before your first session.

  • Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consult, either in-person or via Zoom.

  • In a counselling session, you as the client may choose which topics to discuss and which goals you would like to focus on. My role as a trained counsellor is to provide the safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, regrets, dreams, and memories, and to provide support and guidance as you work to achieve your goals.

  • Crying in session is both natural and normal, especially when sharing deep or strong emotions and painful memories. Some clients cry frequently while others cry occasionally or not at all. We often feel better after a good cry, and tears are a natural reset for our body and mind and are often an important part of the healing process. We will provide the space for any emotions as they come up.
